Get in TTouch with your horse and find out what his head will tell you. FREE courses! FREE book!

Get in TTouch with your horse – and no, that isn’t a spelling mistake.
TTouch and TTeam are methods that have been developed by Linda Tellington-Jones, a very well-known horsewoman from Canada.
Her work has been ground-breaking in its focus on horse welfare and gentle methods of riding, training and rehabilitating horses – long before that became fashionable.
Linda Tellington-Jones has also written extensively about how you can ‘read’ your horse: a look at his head will tell you a lot about his character.
This year, the TTouch method celebrates its 50th birthday. Join the celebration and learn more about Linda’s fantastic work.
You can also sign up for a FREE mini-course to learn more about this method, and you can read one of her most well-known books for FREE online!

Useful for every rider – and every horse

Linda Tellington-Jones and Klaus Balkenhol
The horse magazine Equus did an interview with Linda some years ago, where you can find a lot more information about her life and the background of her work. (You can read it here.)
To mention just a few things: already in the 1970’s Linda started talking and writing about the idea that many horses are unwilling or aggressive because they suffer from pain – a revolutionary thought in those days.
TTouch also incorporates the theories of the famous Israeli physicist Moshe Feldenkrais; for example, reeducating the horse by making it do very specific movements.
Linda Tellington-Jones has worked with top class riders and trainers all over the world, and with some very famous horses. Klaus Balkenhol, Kyra Kyrklund and Dr. Reiner Klimke are just a few of them.
But her techniques are just as useful for a backyard rider and the everyday horse.
And, her work is not limited to horses – it works on almost every animal. Dogs, cats, delphins – even snakes.
On her website you can just now find a number of FREE mini-courses, so you can start exploring (find them here). They are for horses, and for dogs and cats.

Would you like to ‘read’ your horse?

One of my all-time favorite books!
I stumbled upon one of Linda’s books more than forty years ago. It was a real eye-opener and started me thinking about better and more horse-friendly ways of riding and training.
She also gives examples of how the way the horse is built should have a definite influence on how it should be trained. The strong and weak physical points of each individual horse should be considered, and training adapted accordingly.
Linda also learned from her grandfather how to ‘read’ the look of a horse. She describes this in her book ‘Getting in TTouch – Understand and Influence Your Horse’s Personality’.
For me, this is one of the most fun parts of her work. She describes how every detail in the head of a horse can tell you something about the character of that horse. Like the length of the head, the shape of the nostrils, how long the mouth is, the size of the jowls and the line of the nose. Even the whorls will tell you something about the horse.

Even the whorls on the forehead can tell you something about your horse
